  1. There was — of course — a huge amount of farting around required to make that sticker. Both Scribus and Inkscape had difficulty with the Unicode heart symbol. Scribus wouldn’t display or print it, Inkscape displayed it but the glyph didn’t appear in the final PDF.

    MS Word had no problem with the characters, but despite setting up a custom page size for the bumper sticker, its “Save as PDF” function cropped it to standard letter size. All I got was “I ❤ farting”. This is not what I was aiming for at all.

    LibreOffice handled the page size and the fonts perfectly. I should have tried that first. But where’s the fun in that?
