Remember how I said that the simple Mandelbrot Set test took <a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/2013\/03\/08\/running-x11-basic-sorta-kinda-on-raspberry-pi\/\">nearly 1\u00c2\u00bc hours<\/a> to run using the interpreter? How about 2&#8242; 6&#8243; when compiled? That&#8217;s a speedup of 35 times! What you need to do is:<\/p>\n<pre>xbc -virtualm -o mandel-simple mandel-simple.bas<\/pre>\n<p>The &#8220;-virtualm&#8221; bit is the secret key to speed. Without it, the compiled code is a bit faster than interpreted.<\/p>\n<p><del datetime=\"2013-04-27T02:21:42+00:00\">If you&#8217;re running from the source code posted to SourceForge yesterday, you might want to replace xb2csol.h with this new <a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/xb2csol.h\">xb2csol.h<\/a>. It&#8217;s supposed to help with the compiled code.
