It is quite super; it&#8217;s an ICOM <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icomcanada.com\/products\/amateur\/amateur_ic-v80.html\">V80<\/a> 2m HT. Built like an absolute tank; it feels heavier than my Kenwood TH-D72. Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barc.ca\/\">Burlington Amateur Radio Club<\/a> for organizing the event, and to <a href=\"http:\/\/radioworld.ca\/index.php\">Radioworld<\/a> for donating the prizes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">(If I want to get a little grinchy on this, the prize ticket said it was going to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icomcanada.com\/products\/amateur\/amateur_ic-v82.html\">V82<\/a>, a much pricier dualband HT, but hey! a free radio &#8230;)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was an enjoyable event, if small by comparison to <a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/22\/hamvention-2012\/\">Hamvention<\/a>, but then, everything is. Was pleased to see an Arduino\/\u00c2\u00b5C vendor at the show &#8211; Bill, of <a href=\"http:\/\/aztecmcu.com\/\">Aztec MCU Prototyping<\/a>. Bill had some of his <a href=\"http:\/\/omegamcu.com\/index.html\">Omega MCU Systems<\/a> boards for sale, which mostly feature ZIF sockets for rapid prototyping. I bought the Arduino-compatible (in software, if not pinout) <a href=\"http:\/\/omegamcu.com\/id16.html\">Omega-328U<\/a> board, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.picaxe.com\/\">PICAXE<\/a>-based <a href=\"http:\/\/omegamcu.com\/id17.html\">D-Axe<\/a>.
