{"id":3034,"date":"2007-03-25T12:03:46","date_gmt":"2007-03-25T16:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/25\/a-small-form-of-happiness-is\/"},"modified":"2007-03-25T12:03:46","modified_gmt":"2007-03-25T16:03:46","slug":"a-small-form-of-happiness-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/25\/a-small-form-of-happiness-is\/","title":{"rendered":"a small form of happiness is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; a USB key with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.u3.com\/uninstall\/\">irritating U3 software uninstalled<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.u3.com\/\">U3<\/a>  is a major annoyance if you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>use Mac<\/li>\n<li>use Linux<\/li>\n<li>work on a PC with locked-down permissions<\/li>\n<li>work on a PC with a one-letter drive gap (like having <code>D:<\/code> and <code>F:<\/code>, but no <code>E:<\/code>); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.u3.com\/\">U3<\/a>&#8216;s read-only system will appear in the gap, but your data won&#8217;t be accessible.<br \/>\n(<em>It&#8217;s not really <a href=\"http:\/\/www.u3.com\/\">U3<\/a>&#8216;s fault. The fact that Windows still has drive letters amazes me; why don&#8217;t they go for the whole 70s thing and have punch cards and gargantuan 5MB hard disk packs?<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All four of the above apply to me, so <code>u3 uninstall.exe<\/code> is my friend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; a USB key with the irritating U3 software uninstalled.
