I installed Richard K Miller&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardkmiller.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/microid-plugin-for-wordpress\">MicroID Plugin for WordPress<\/a>, but it didn&#8217;t seem to want to correctly fingerprint the top level of my site.<\/p>\n<p>A little sleuthing (even with my zero PHP skills) showed that claimID thought the URL of my site was <a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/\">http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/<\/a>, while Richard&#8217;s plugin thought the URL was <a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog\/\">http:\/\/scruss.com\/blog<\/a>. The trailing slash made all the difference to the claimID fingerprint.<\/p>\n<p>All I had to do was to edit the URL in my claimID page, get the site verified, and <a href=\"http:\/\/claimid.com\/scruss\">this blog is <strong>so<\/strong> mine<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like the idea of claimID \u00e2\u20ac\u201d a simple web ID system \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and have been trying to mark all my online content with it.
