The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windsave.com\/\">WindSave<\/a> looks like it plans to be a distributed project of 1000s of micro-turbines, each &#8220;phoning home&#8221; to  report its production to a central site.<\/p>\n<p>Contentious article in <a href=\"http:\/\/politics.guardian.co.uk\/green\/story\/0,9061,1091798,00.html\">The Guardian<\/a>,  which I already know that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wind-works.org\/\">Paul Gipe<\/a> has had a good grouse about.<\/p>\n<p><!-- As it's only 230mm in diameter, it's unlikely to generate very much; 5W, maybe? --> I don&#8217;t see what this does that a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marlec.co.uk\/\">Marlec<\/a> doesn&#8217;t. I&#8217;ve sent for more info.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d hate to have to consign this to my &#8220;Wind Energy Annoyances&#8221; folder,<br \/>\nbut it may be heading that way. And I&#8217;m very, very suspicious of any<br \/>\nwind turbine that&#8217;s backed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.countryguardian.net\/\">Country Guardian<\/a>, the UK&#8217;s anti-wind energy, pro-nuclear group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seems that a little turbine from my old hometown is causing quite a stir.
