This is a slight misuse of the OpenType format, but if you&#8217;re plotting\/CNCing\/laser cutting, the filled paths of standard fonts don&#8217;t work so well. <a href=\"http:\/\/imajeenyus.com\/computer\/20150110_single_line_fonts\/index.shtml\">Single-line<\/a> (or <strong>stroke<\/strong>) fonts used to be possible in PostScript \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the version of Courier shipped with early Apple LaserWriter printers was composed of strokes, rather than filled paths \u00e2\u20ac\u201d but have fallen out of favour. If you have a device with a defined tool width, it&#8217;s better to let the tool make the width of the mark\/cut. Here&#8217;s the hairline font plotted with a 0.7 mm pen to illustrate what I mean:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12893\" src=\"http:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline-320x240.jpg\" alt=\"1520hairline\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline-320x240.jpg 320w, https:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline-160x120.jpg 160w, https:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/scruss.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/1520hairline.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a>This font is almost invisible on screen or on a regular printer, so I <strong>don&#8217;t<\/strong> recommend installing it unless you have specific CNC\/plotting needs.
