Digital Modes: Morse/CW
Still the most widely-heard ‘digital’ mode
Essentially just turning the transmitter on and off in a standard pattern
Sent and received tolerably well by fldigi with no knowledge of code required
Electronic keyers (some USB based) can send very quickly and clearly
(... though there are still many WW2 radio ops out there, some of whom may not approve).
Notes:
Morse/CW is everywhere; it's like the ASCII of radio, used for repeater call signs and beacon signals.
